Uphill to nowhere

That is how it feels most days

Dirty, muddy path.

Hell on earth arrives

With icy blue eyes stabbing,

Freezing all feeling.

Politics slithers

Pirhanas sharp teeth
precede them in the water

Grey prehistoric
looking creature can play dead
like many in our Congress.

Summer is closing,

leaves are tinting so slightly,

slightly cooler nights

The Diamondback

Diamondback Rattler
coiled up on two foot path,
Vibrating alert..

Snake with strong venom
has the ethics to warn me;
wish people did too.

Weasel

Lithe, slinky weasel
sneaky and opportunist
pops up like the song.

Ferocious hunter,
treacherous and mean;
politician strong.
