The Patriot Act Sucks

Is it paranoia if they really are after you?
Being followed, monitored computer use?
All because I idolized my congressman
and then dared to criticize his henchmen?

It is very dangerous to idolize anyone
Because they're only human in the long run.
It's even worse when he's a politician,
when he's full of ego and ambition.

You can double that when his brother is a senator;
powerful men and top collaborators,
they can pretty much do what they want to you
without facing any legal review.

I know this really sounds kind of crazy and it just might be
except it's happening right now and to  me.
Never, ever anger your congressman 
or his staff who are even more driven.

Deadly Forces

Avalanche...
Snow charges downward,
overcomes
all that's in its path.


The Tornado...
Racing wind of death
can drop down,
kill without warning.


Tsunami...
Mountain water wave; 
crushing speed,
drowns all in its way 


Politics...
Lying, deception
can crush lives,
deadly as nature.

Fight Stigma

I was going to give up
and do myself in;
no one wanted me here,
I can never win.


But then I realized
I would never lose
as long as I hang in
and fight the abuse.


Stigma hurts everyone,
we are ALL unique.
Please don't put others down
because they seem weak.


I combat an illness;
no fault of my own;
no need to be afraid
and don't throw that stone.


Glass houses all shatter
with one single throw.
Really, we all live there
So just let it go.


It's better to reach out
and begin to see
that uniqueness is good
tolerance is key.


That's why I hang around,
to help others get,
there's no need to be scared
we are not a threat.


Give up the idea
our illness means odd
We are all around you,
some never seem flawed.


When you hear depressed
Please don't assume the worst
When you hear autism
Don't assume she's cursed.


Give us all a chance
just like anyone new.
Many will surprise you
with what we can do.

Hey, Bully!

You think you're being funny,

that your friends think you are cool

but when you say those mean things

you're just being cruel.

How do you think those things feel

to the one they're said about?

Do you even think it through

when you are lashing out?

What you do hurts a person

who feels and bleeds like you do

What you say can do damage

that you might not undo.

Your victim takes it so hard

she might feel just so forlorn

she might go off the deep end

and wish she was not born.

She might decide to end it

to make the pain go away

it seems the only way out

from what you do and say.

Being a bully is wrong,

You know deep down that is true

Stop it now and make it right

It's the moral thing to do.

You'll feel better so will she;

"I'm sorry is hard to say". 

but it's far easier now

than on a funeral day.
